breast cancer and metastases? | Breast Cancer Survival Blog

breast cancer and metastases?
Just a question if a primary breast cancer is surgically removed with a mastectomy 14/17 nodes grade 3 triple negative what happens if it goes to the collar bone i know its classed as secondary breast cancer but what is your prognosis?
i know its not curable but can they still live a while?
if this person has very aggressive cancer can they still keep it under control?

Answer by Denisedds
That makes it a stage 4 and it is no longer curable.

EDIT: The overall 5 year survival rate for stage 4 breast cancer is 20%, but it is not unusual to see some patients live 8-10 years or more. This person has a very aggressive cancer.

Answer by MOHAN
Distant metastases makes it stage 4.
As primary surgical resection has been done.the treatment options are chemo plus radiotherapy Treatment is only palliative due to advance stage and prognosis poor.
